Longboard Features:

-
Nose Concave: Helps with early wave entry and maintaining planning speed on the wave. Also water is made to compress and speed up through the concave creating "lift", for increased stability when nose riding.
-
Added Width: Allows for a very stable board with great early wave catching and planing.
-
Round tail: The rounded tail offers more hold in steeper wave faces than a square tail and gives you an easier subtle shift dynamic when turning.
-
Soft cruisey rail: Hard rails in the tail and nose area creates great hold in the wave and allows you to project out of your bottom turns. Combined with the softer rail in the fuller central part of the board this board releases when turning and water spirals along the curve when walking the board helping with stability on the wave side edge.
-
Slight Belly to V: The Belly allows the board to plane through flat sections whilst offering a more loose feel. The slight V through the tail gives this board a smooth rail to rail transition.
-
Fin Set Up: This board comes as a 2 + 1 Set up (two sides and a longboard box center) in all sizes off the shelf. Side fins are Fcs1 or Fcs2 on PU boards and Future system on epoxylite boards.
-
Construction: The Classic comes in either PU or Epoxylite construction. PU is the traditional construction of closed cell foam, stringer, fibreglass and polyster resin. Epoxylite is asuper lightweight open cell foam with stringer, fibreglass and epoxy resin to finish. Note all epoxy's are made abroard so custom option is not usually available.
-
Cloth: All boards feature 1 x 6oz + 1 x 4ozglass on deck and double 4oz underneath. With custom build we can add layers or change weights.
The Custard Point Explorer is one of our newest longboard shapes. Designed by Tim Mellors as a high volume log alternative to the Ultimate Nose Rider. It is a very fun and cruisey board to surf.
It has similar stats to the UNR, the same width and thickness for example. However it features a slightly more progressive pulled in nose offering easier turning on the wave face. And instead of a big wide squash tail the Explorer has this lovely big round tail. This offers a bit more flexibility in how this type of log turns. Along with the bigger continuous rocker line the board holds well in steeper or more powerful sections.
We called it The Explorer because it would be a great board to travel with as it really goes in a particularly wide range of wave types and conditions. Probably one of our most overlooked boards!
We run The Classic in two sizes 9'2 and 9'6, larger or smaller versions are available as a custom build options.

" This board is a wave magnet. Fun to surf and easy to walk. It glides effortlessly on the face and i have had so many really fun surfs on it. "
