ALTERNATIVES

   Board Features:

  • Wide Shortboard Nose:                                                                                                                 Gives you better stability than a thinner nose, but really helps you turn on the wave face creating more mobility and liveliness than the round nose. Slight beak adds volume for paddling.

  • High Rocker:                                                                                                                                                       The larger rocker in this board keeps you from nose diving. And gives you increased maneuverability.

  • Standard Width:                                                                                                                                              A bit of extra width in the mid section that has been pushed a bit further up the board centering it right under where you lye. Allows for easy paddling, enhanced stability, early wave catching and helps maintain planing speed through flat sections.

  • Performance rail:                                                                                                                                       Hard rails in the tail and nose area creates great hold in the wave and allows you to project out of your bottom turns. .

  • Single concave to V:                                                                                                                                    The concave bottom contour is popular with most modern shortboards today. It keeps the water moving underneath the board towards the fin area and makes it feel fast. The V in the tail allows the board to pivot easily from rail to rail and pushes the water outwards onto the pin tail giving you hold.

  • Pin tail:                                                                                                                                                           The sharp pin tail offers great hold in steeper wave faces and gives you a easier subtle shift dynamic when turning.

  • Fin Set Up:                                                                                                                                                   This board comes as a single fin set up. Helps catch waves early, keeps the board stable and gives increased speed and hold in the face.

  • Construction:                                                                                                                                                 The One comes in PU and is the traditional construction of closed cell foam, stringer, fibreglass and polyster resin. Custom option is not usually available.

  • Cloth:                                                                                                                                                                All boards feature 1 x 6oz + 1 x 4ozglass on deck and double 4oz  underneath. With custom build we can add layers or change weights.

The One is a single fin shortboard that started life as a project for 3 x British Champ Holly Donelly. Designed by Lee Hallam the brief was to make a 6' board that blended a modern shortboard with a classic single fin template. Holly was taking this board away traveling with the idea of getting some super long rides.

" I found myself going to New Zealand for a few months. I didn't want to take any of my old toothpick boards along. So I asked Lee to design me a 6' single fin. I fell in love with Raglan Point and it really suited those long walls there - it was just perfect "

Holly Donelly  ( Real Surfing Magazine Article )

The resulting board worked really well in both the waves in Newquay and on the otherside of the world. So we made some tweaks and created a shop model. This board is very quick, paddles into waves early and holds well in those steeper drops or sections. With the slight V in the tail the board turns effortlessly and when combined with the single fin it makes for smooth rail to rail transitions. It really pushes your surfing to rely more on the rail than typically the bite of side fins. We added a nice smooth rocker curve with a little more in the nose to help you maneuver in the pocket. This board carries good volume but, still duck dives well.

The One is a super fun board for anyone looking to explore the other side to shortboarding. Allowing you to draw new lines with an old skool feel.

Traditionally these boards are ridden slightly longer than your normal shortboard. But, its great to experiment. The largest we have made is a 7'4"

The One comes in the following sizes  5'10, 6'0, 6'2, 6'4, 6'6, 6'8' 6'10 and 7'0.

Available as custom builds mostly with any size available.

This shape just looks perfect in a resin tint!
